As a Bavarian enthusiast and family man, our stay at Landpension Heidi Machold in the picturesque Fichtelgebirge mountain range was a delightful blend of authentic experiences and warm hospitality. The spacious and comfortable rooms, complete with traditional furnishings, provided a cozy retreat after days filled with outdoor adventures. The hearty "Brotzeit" at the welcoming restaurant, with its Franconian specialties, was a true highlight, perfectly capturing the essence of Bavarian cuisine. Our children enjoyed the children's playground and the vast 18,000 m^2 garden, offering ample space for them to play and explore.Exploring the surrounding area, we discovered a variety of activities, from hiking excursions to mountain-bike tracks, catering to outdoor enthusiasts of all ages. The proximity to the Weißenstädter See recreational center added another layer of fun to our stay, allowing us to unwind in a beautiful natural setting just a short distance from the hotel. The convenient location near the historic cities of Bayreuth and Selb provided opportunities for cultural excursions, enriching our overall experience.Despite the cash-only policy at both the hotel and the restaurant, the reasonable prices and exceptional quality of the meals made it a minor inconvenience. Our time at this charming guest house was a perfect blend of traditional Bavarian charm, outdoor exploration, and family-friendly amenities, making it a memorable New Year's getaway for our family.
